On July 1, 2016, BerkOne Inc. completed the acquisition of Amtek Data Corp.
Since 1980, Amtek has been providing document and content management services, as well as designing and implementing data and information capture systems from its headquarters in Syracuse, New York.
“The fit between BerkOne and Amtek is incredible,” says BerkOne President Tim Fehr. “When we started acquisition discussions, I initially described Amtek to our senior management team as ‘a smaller version of BerkOne.'”
Amtek Data Corp is now part of one of the largest and leading solutions providers in the US for business process automation and content management, meaning clients will be better served.
Acquisition Details and Benefits
- BerkOne will retain Amtek employees and fully integrate its Syracuse operations as a third data center. This provides additional capacity and enhances BerkOne’s disaster recovery capabilities.
- BerkOne’s enterprise content management offerings will expand to include OpenText’s Captiva and AX (ApplicationsXtender). These are in addition to BerkOne’s current products: Kofax, including Kapow robotic process automation software, Upland / FileBound, Hyland / AnyDoc, IBM® FileNet, and Microsoft® Sharepoint.
- As BerkOne grows, employees will be added to both the Lehigh Valley and Syracuse locations.
- BerkOne and Amtek have no overlapping customers. This simplifies the integration of Amtek’s customers into BerkOne’s proven client support system.
During the transition, BerkOne will welcome John Bates, Amtek’s president, as an integral part of the BerkOne business development team. If you have any questions about the acquisition, please contact us
